The eldritch is tantalizingly horrific, repulsive yet compellingly magical. It opens a pit in our stomach that hungers for a solace to the horror. But it is for this reason that the eldritch serves its purpose, for without the eldritch to terrify us, there is no angel to comfort us. The eldritch is the antithesis of the angelic, but beauty exists separately, persisting even within the most hellish depths of the eldritch.
